Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance Designation (ASLI)
One of the primary original objectives of the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation was the creation of a professional Excess & Surplus Lines designation program, known as the Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI) designation. The ASLI program was unveiled in 1995 and the designation is awarded at the NAPSLO Annual Convention. The designation provides professional training and recognition to those attaining this designation.
Prepare to meet new challenges
The ASLI program prepares you to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by the use of the surplus lines market. Earning this designation can be beneficial to industry veterans who wish to enhance their prestige and marketability. It can also benefit those who are relatively new to nonadmitted companies and who want to demonstrate a commitment to understanding their clients' needs.Required Courses
To earn the ASLI designation, students must pass the exams for ASLI 163, ASLI 164, and any two of the listed electives. The Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation granted by the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) will satisfy both elective requirements.
