These insurers are not licensed or officially approved by the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI). The TDI does not have the duty or responsibility to determine the actual financial condition or claims practices of these insurers. The TDI does not audit the finances or review the solvency of these insurers, and such insurers are not members of the property and casualty guaranty association created under Chapter 462 of the Texas Insurance Code. The eligibility of these insurers as surplus lines insurers in Texas has been determined by Texas licensed surplus lines agents pursuant to Chapter 981, Subchapter B, Texas Insurance Code, and by the TDI pursuant to the Texas Administrative Code Title 28, Chapter 15, Section 15.8. Eligibility of these insurers has been established as of the date of this list but is subject to continual review and additions and deletions may occur prior to the publication of the next list. |
